When the former Phillipstown Primary School was closed at the end of 2014, the local community Centre established the Phillipstown Community Hub which has grown to become a true gathering place for the people around this side of town, with many groups meeting here, including our Garden group. Volunteers and visitors are welcome at the Phillipstown Hub Community Garden where we have a thriving vegetable garden, glasshouse, fruit trees and flower beds. Our aim is to bring the ancient skills and enjoyment of growing your own plants to everyone who is interested. We are all volunteers with varying levels of experience, swapping our knowledge and enjoying each other’s company. Our lead volunteer is very experienced with layer gardening and propagation, and he freely shares his knowledge and passion.
