EDS is a not-for-profit that seeks to protect and restore Aotearoa New Zealand’s outstanding landscapes, freshwater systems, oceans and indigenous biodiversity. We do this through holding business and government to account, strengthening the law when it is found wanting, and supporting good environmental management practice.Our policy team researches, develops and advocates for environmental solutions. Our litigation enforces and strengthens the law, ensuring an environmental voice is heard in the courts. Our events bring people together to share knowledge and build momentum.
